Coltrane-Webb Update for the Week of October 26th- October 30th
Posted Date: 10/25/26 (04:00 PM)

Hello Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School Families,
I hope everyone has had a great weekend! We want to thank everyone who helped to stock our workroom with all the snacks and drinks for entire staff! We are truly blessed by your incredible generosity.
Follow this link to the video version of our Weekly Update.
Please take a few moments to review the important updates below:
Morning Car Rider Arrival Update
To ensure students are inside the building and ready to begin their day by 8:15 AM, all morning car riders should be in the car rider line no later than 8:10 AM. This allows time for students to exit their vehicles and enter the building before the tardy bell.
Please note that staff members assigned to morning car rider duty will begin moving inside at 8:12 AM to prepare for the start of the school day. Families arriving after 8:12 AM will need to park and check in at the front office because your child will not make it to class on time. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, smooth, and timely morning arrival process for all students.
Curriculum/Title 1 Night
Please join us for our annual Curriculum/Title 1 Night on Thursday, October 29th from 5:00-7:00pm. Join us for a "Frightfully Good Night for Learning"!
Activities include:
- Curriculum Activities for the Whole Family
- Book Fair
- Visit Our New Aquaponics Lab
- Title 1 Presentation
- Raffle For Prizes
- Learn More About Other Cultures' Fall Celebrations
- Pizza Dinner
Families are encouraged to park on our campus and on the streets around CWES unless signage notes that you cannot park there. Please do not park in front of our neighbors' driveways to ensure they can enter and leave their homes. We highly recommend families carpool if you are able to as that will reduce the amount of cars needing a place to park.
We look forward to having you join us!
Cultural Spirit Week
We are having a Cultural Spirit Week this week. (see flyers below) With the end of October and early November having Halloween, Día de los Muertos, and Diwali we thought it would be a wonderful time to celebrate our diverse student population. We will also highlight some of these cultures and traditions during Curriculum Night on Thursday, October 29 with some students and families sharing about Diwali and Día de los Muertos. We look forward to celebrating and learning more about our diverse school community!

The Fall Book Fair Starts MondayOur Scholastic Book Fair is coming to CWES October 26–29 during school hours and on Curriculum Night. Students and families will have the opportunity to discover exciting new books and find their next great read. Best of all, profits from our Book Fair will help fund our Read Across America activities in the spring! Please see Ms. Reisen's recent Parent Square message linked here for more details. Thank you for supporting our school and helping us grow a love of reading!
Fall Fundraiser
We are entering our final week for the "Pick a Date to Donate" Fall Fundraiser! We want to thank everyone that has donated to it. We have raised over $8,400 and need about $6,600 to reach our goal of $15,000! It’s simple - pick a date on the calendar and donate that dollar amount. Every donation helps support our school and gives students the chance to earn some awesome prizes as well as a number of staff members getting slimed if we hit certain goals, including Mr. Balga, Mrs. White and Ms. Johnson (see the attached flyer)! The fundraiser ends October 30th, so there’s still lots of time to participate.
Here's your next challenge: TEN DOLLAR TUESDAY!
If every student in our school fundraises at least $10, we will reach our $15,000 goal! So, every student who fundraises at least 10 dollars by Tuesday wins EXTRA RECESS!
You can send in cash or check made out to "CWES PTCO" in an envelope with your child's name and teacher's name. You can also send donations through Zelle (cwesptco@gmail.com). Thank you for supporting our school and helping us make this fundraiser a huge success!
No School for Students on Tuesday, November 3rd
There will be no school for students on Tuesday, November 3rd for an uncapped teacher workday. We will be back to a regular schedule Wednesday, November 4th.
