Posted Date: 10/18/26 (04:00 PM)

The cartoon Cougars are the mascots of Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School. Their names are Zougar and Zoey.
Hello Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School Families,

I hope everyone has had a great weekend!

Follow this link to the video version of our Weekly Update.

Please take a few moments to review the important updates below:

Morning Car Rider Arrival Update
To ensure students are inside the building and ready to begin their day by 8:15 AM, all morning car riders should be in the car rider line no later than 8:10 AM. This allows time for students to exit their vehicles and enter the building before the tardy bell.

Please note that staff members assigned to morning car rider duty will begin moving inside at 8:12 AM to prepare for the start of the school day. Families arriving after car rider duty concludes will need to park and check in at the front office. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, smooth, and timely morning arrival process for all students.

Principal Appreciation Spirt Week

October is National Principals Month!  In order to show our appreciation to Mr. Balga, we will be doing a Spirit Week to add in a little fun with some of his favorite things!

A colorful flyer outlines spirit week activities for National Principal Month, October 19-23, dedicated to Mr. Balga.

Report Cards

Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday, October 21st.  Please take time to review them with your child, celebrate their accomplishments, and discuss areas for growth.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher.  Open communication is key to support student progress, and we value partnering with you to ensure your child's success.

The Fall Book Fair is Coming Soon

Our Scholastic Book Fair is coming to CWES October 26–29 during school hours and on Curriculum Night.  Students and families will have the opportunity to discover exciting new books and find their next great read. Best of all, profits from our Book Fair will help fund our Read Across America activities in the spring! Thank you for supporting our school and helping us grow a love of reading!

Fall Fundraiser

Our "Pick a Date to Donate" Fall Fundraiser is happening now!  It’s simple - pick a date on the calendar and donate that dollar amount. Every donation helps support our school and gives students the chance to earn some awesome prizes (see the attached flyer)!  The fundraiser ends October 30th, so there’s still lots of time to participate.  You can send in cash or check made out to "CWES PTCO" in an envelope with your child's name and teacher's name.  You can also send donations through Zelle (cwesptco@gmail.com).  Thank you for supporting our school and helping us make this fundraiser a huge success!

Mi Pueblo Spirit Night

Our first Spirit Night of September will take place on October 21st at Mi Pueblo Mexican Grill in Concord, near Target. Dine in or take out anytime from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. Please be sure to tell the employee you are there to support Coltrane-Webb so that our school gets credit for your purchase! Also, note that for Spirit Nights, orders from Uber Eats, Door Dash, or on the website do NOT count for our school! Please make sure you DINE IN at the restaurant, call your order into the restaurant and pick up, or place a take out order inside of the restaurant. Thank you!

Positivity Project (P2)

This week for P2, students will learn about the character strength of "Creativity". This means coming up with new and original ways to think about and do things. Check out the parent newsletter to learn more.

I hope you have a great Sunday and we will see you tomorrow!
