I hope you all have had a great weekend!  The first day of fall is coming this week and looks like those nice, cooler temperatures are finally starting to arrive.

Follow this link to the video version of our Weekly Update.

Please take a few moments to review the important updates below:

No School for Students on Friday. September 25th

There will be no school for students on Friday, September 25th for a Capped Teacher Workday.  We will be back to a regular schedule on Monday, September 28th.

Attendance Awareness Month

September is Attendance Awareness Month and our first Mystery Attendance Day was a success! We will continue these at random throughout the year. Be here on time & stay all day to be entered into the raffle - your student and family could win a prize. Thank you to the PTCO for supporting this initiative!

We know attendance isn’t a one-person job. If your student/family is facing challenges with regular, on-time attendance, reach out to your teacher or student support team. We’re here to help!

This year's Attendance Awareness Campaign is "Your Presence Matters!” and we will be celebrating in school next week! Ask your student(s) about the fun activities they participate in each day they are here.

  • Monday 9/21: To KICK OFF the week by TEAMING UP FOR ATTENDANCE, we’re encouraging staff and students to wear team/sports attire or colors of your favorite team (remember, CWES is a team)
    • This is the only day we are encouraging students to dress up.  The rest of the week will include in-school activities only.
  • Tuesday 9/22: Move & Groove for Attendance
  • Wednesday 9/23: Your Future is Bright
  • Thursday 9/24: It’s COOL to come to School
First Quarter Parent/Teacher Conferences

First Quarter conferences are right around the corner in the next few weeks. Please be on the lookout for communication from your child's teachers to select a time to meet.

Santa Scramble 5K

The Santa Scramble 5K is set for Saturday, November 21, 2026 in downtown Concord.  The race will again be part of the Concord Christmas parade with an approximate start between 2:00 and 2:15 pm start (subject to change).  Concord Middle School is fielding a team and has invited our students, staff and families to join their team.  The school with the most registrants will received $1000.  If you are interested, please use this link to register and as you complete the signing up, make sure you indicate you want to join the Concord Middle School group.

Positivity Project (P2)

This week for P2, students will learn about the other people mindset of "Perspective". This means understanding and appreciating .different points of view. Perspective, often seen as wisdom, goes beyond intelligence. People with this strength are valued for their advice because they see the big picture and understand complex issues. Check out the parent newsletter to learn more.

I hope you have a great Sunday and we will see you tomorrow!
