Chapters 1 & 2


Students read Chapter 1 at school and should be able to summarize the chapter.  Your family may also listen to the read aloud for a quick way to catch up on Chapter 1.  Please enjoy reading Chapter 2 together to kick off this exciting journey! 


Discussion Questions: 


  1. How did Stuart Little use STEM skills to help his family in Chapters 1 and 2? What problems did he solve?

  2. When talking about the mouse hole, why do you think Mr. Little says that Stuart LOOKS like a mouse, instead of that he IS a mouse?

  3. What do you predict might happen in the next chapter?  Why do you think that?

STEM Challenge: 

Stuart’s World


Since Stuart is only around 2 inches tall, everything Stuart uses is either made just for him or adapted so that it fits him.  Your family is invited to make a piece of furniture or anything Stuart might use that is sized perfectly for him.  Bring your perfectly-sized item for Stuart to STEM Night on April 15 and we will collect them all to create a school display: Stuart’s World.  Join in the fun as we read Stuart Little together!
