Weekly Update for the Week of March 30th - April 3rd

Hello Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School Families,

Thank you to everyone who came to our Cougar Connect Family Game Night last Thursday.  We enjoyed seeing families have a great time playing all the different games throughout the evening.  We also want to congratulate our Science Olympiad Team who competed in the Cabarrus County Science Olympiad Tournament on Saturday and won 1st Place out of all competing teams!  This is a testament to their hard work and dedication throughout the season. We are so proud of them!  Thank you to all of our staff and volunteers who made this season so successful!

No School for Students on Friday, April 3rd and Monday April 6th

There will be no school for students this Friday, April 3rd and next Monday, April 6th.  We will be back to a regular schedule on Tuesday 4/7.

CWES School Dance

Our school dance will be this Thursday, April 2nd from 6:00-7:30pm at Concord High School! Tickets are on sale now trough 3/31!  A flyer went home with students and your child can turn in their money to their teacher.  We will need help before and throughout the event to help it run smoothly!  Please review this link and sign up for any slots as you are able. We appreciate your help! Thank you! 

Ellis Jewelry Finalist from CWES 

We are excited to share that one of our 5th grade students, Sahasra, is a finalist in the "Ellis Jewelry Future Jewelry Designers Contest" for her yellow and orange necklace design. We are so proud of her!  The winner will be chosen by whomever has the most likes/loves on their Facebook post, so please follow this link to vote for Sahasra  and share with as many people as you know!  Voting ends on Monday, March 30th.

Report Cards

Third quarter report cards were sent home last week.  Please take time to review them with your child, celebrate their successes, and set goals for the fourth quarter.  If you have any specific questions about their current performance in class, please reach out to their teacher.

Spring Picture Rescheduled Date

Our Spring Pictures will take place this Thursday, April 2nd.  If you have already sent in completed forms from when it was originally scheduled, there is nothing additional you need to do. Students received new order forms for those that would like to now purchase a package.  Please complete and return those form to your child's teacher by the day of the photos. Payment information can be found on the form.

If you have any questions about either picture day, please contact the front office.

March Spirit Night

Our next Spirit Night of will take on Tuesday, March 31st at Slim Chickens from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Please be sure to tell the employee you are there to support Coltrane-Webb so that our school gets credit for your purchase! Also, note that for Spirit Nights, orders from Uber Eats, Door Dash, or on the website do NOT count for our school! Please make sure you DINE IN at the restaurant, call your order into the restaurant and pick up, or place a take out order inside of the restaurant. Thank you!

2025-2026 PTCO Recruitment

The Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary PTCO is looking for new parents and guardians to join us for the 2026–2027 school year, and no prior experience is needed. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful difference for both our students and teachers while helping shape exciting traditions as we open our brand-new school building this August. Whether you have a little time or a lot, your ideas, voice, and support can help strengthen our classrooms, enrich student experiences, and build a connected school community. Positivity Project (P2)

Next week for P2, our students will learn about the character strength "Humor".  This means enjoying laughter and bringing smiles to others.  Check out the parent newsletter to learn more.
