The Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School Mascots, Zougar and Zoey.
Hello Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School Families,

Despite the cold temperatures outside, it has been a warm and great week here at Coltrane-Webb!

Please take a few moments to review to review the important updates below:

Monday, January 19th: No School For Students and Staff

There will be no school for students and staff on Monday, January 19th for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. Students will return to school on our regular schedule on Tuesday, January 20th.

Seeking Feedback from Our Community

We would like to hear your thoughts on what you believe is the most significant challenge facing our community.  To share your thoughts on this question, please complete this short form. The form will not collect any personal information to ensure your anonymity.  Your responses will be shared at the upcoming Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council meeting later this month by our parent representative, Mrs. Godinez.  Thank you!

2025-2026 PTCO Recruitment

The Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary PTCO is looking for new parents and guardians to join us for the 2026–2027 school year, and no prior experience is needed. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful difference for both our students and teachers while helping shape exciting traditions as we open our brand-new school building this August. Whether you have a little time or a lot, your ideas, voice, and support can help strengthen our classrooms, enrich student experiences, and build a connected school community. We would love for you to be part of this exciting new chapter at Coltrane-Webb!  If you are interested, please email CWPTCO@gmail.com

January Spirit Night

Our first Spirit Night of 2026 will take on Wednesday, January 21st at Mi Pubelo Mexican Grill in Concord, near Target. Dine in or take out anytime from 5PM to 10PM.

PLEASE be sure to tell the employee you are there to support Coltrane-Webb so that our school gets credit for your purchase! Also, note that for Spirit Nights, orders from Uber Eats, Door Dash, or on the website do NOT count for our school! Please make sure you DINE IN at the restaurant, call your order into the restaurant and pick up, or place a take out order inside of the restaurant. Please see the attached flyer for a quick reference.  Thank you!

STEM Builds the Future: 1Can at a Time

This K-12 STEM project will engage approximately 1,000 students in a districtwide, hands-on service-learning initiative in partnership with 1CAN Inc., a local nonprofit that operates Blessing Boxes across Cabarrus County. Students will collect canned goods, then collaborate in school teams to design and build a large-scale “can sculpture” that integrates STEM and art. After a community partner judging event on February 27, all cans will be donated to 1CAN to stock Blessing Boxes and support its mission of reducing food insecurity. If each student donates at least 1 can, we will do our part to support this project! Cans may be brought to the MakerSpace first thing in the morning. Thank you!

Positivity Project (P2)

Next week for P2, our students will focus on "Perseverance". This means never giving up and completing what you start despite any obstacles that you may face. Check out the parent newsletter to learn more.

I hope you have a great weekend and we will see you on Monday!
