Megan Smith is originally from Huntersville, North Carolina and graduated from North Mecklenburg High School.  She attended Elon University where she earned a BA in Secondary English Education.  She taught English and special education at Northwest Cabarrus High School for four years before attending UNC Charlotte as a NC Principal Fellow.  Mrs. Smith completed a full-time internship at Wolf Meadow Elementary School before serving as Assistant Principal at Central Cabarrus High School for five years.  She joined the CWES school family as principal in May 2019.  She has two daughters in 3^rd grade at CWES and her husband Brad works as Director of Assessment and Accreditation at UNC Charlotte Cato College of Education.  Outside of serving our amazing school community Mrs. Smith enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, exercising, cooking, and traveling.
