#1 It's spring performance season for high school theatre

Spring performance season is upon us for high school theatre students, and it's a great time to plan to enjoy a show and see our talented students in action:

#2 FYI: P2 Character Strength of the Week

Next week’s Positivity Project (P2) character strength is humility. We encourage you to talk with your child about what this strength means and how they can practice it each day at home, at school, and in your community. Visit the P2 for Families webpage for helpful resources and conversation starters to support this week’s strength. You can also view our P2 Character Strength Calendar to stay up to date with what your child is learning through our P2 curriculum.
 

#3 Coming March 30th: Transportation request forms for 2026-27

Again this year, Cabarrus County Schools will be utilizing ParentSquare forms to collect transportation information for families who will attend CCS during the 2026-27 school year.

These forms will be available from March 30th through April 30th in ParentSquare. After April 30th, the electronic request will close, and parents will have to request transportation in-person at their school.

You will need a registered ParentSquare account to complete your child's form. For information on registering your ParentSquare account, please see our ParentSquare Information webpage.

#4 Need-to-Knows

END OF THE QUARTER: The end of the third quarter is Friday, March 6th. Some reminders:
✔️ Check your child’s grades in Infinite Campus.
✔️ Review any missing or incomplete assignments.
✔️ Encourage strong attendance and on-time arrival.
✔️ Reach out to teachers with questions or concerns before the quarter ends.

SPRING PANORAMA SURVEY: The spring Panorama Survey window will be open from March 23 - April 10. Please check with your school for specific dates. To learn more about the survey, please visit our Panorama Student Wellness Survey webpage.

UPCOMING CALENDAR REMINDERS:
  • March 3rd - Primary Election Day: No school for traditional calendar students due to many of our schools being used as voting locations.
  • March 6th - End of the third quarter: Early Dismissal day for traditional calendar students. View the Early Dismissal Schedule.

Special Olympics Spring Games Volunteers Needed

The Special Olympics of Cabarrus County is currently looking for volunteers to assist with their Spring Games, which will be held on April 15th and 16th at the Cabarrus Arena. This is always a fun event and is a great day to join in celebrating our students and community.

 

The 15th annual Ellis Jewelers custom design contest

The 15th Annual Ellis Jewelers Future Designer Contest starts NOW! 

Cabarrus County Schools’ students in grades 3-12 are invited to submit an original design to be crafted into a piece of jewelry. All designs must be submitted, in person or by mail to Ellis Jewelers no later than March 20th, 2026 by 5:30 pm EST. Good luck!

Special Olympics Polar Plunge is Saturday, Feb. 28th

Special Olympics Cabarrus County is excited to host our 2nd Annual Community Polar Plunge, and we would love to see more individuals across our area get involved!
Funds raised through this event directly support the programs we offer, including Spring Games. The Polar Plunge is open to the entire community, allowing individuals with and without intellectual disabilities to participate together.

Event Details:
  • Date: Saturday, February 28
  • Time: 10:00 a.m.
  • Location: SportsCenter Fitness & Aquatics Club, 233 Country Club Dr. NE, Concord, 28025


The event will feature a DJ, costume contest, 50/50 raffle, and of course—the plunge! For those who prefer to stay dry, we also offer a Puny Plunge, where participants only dip a finger.

UNCC Youth Spring Workshops

Looking for hands-on, engaging learning opportunities for your child this spring? UNC Charlotte Youth Programs is offering a series of Spring Workshops designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking for students in grades 1–12.

Workshop Dates
📅 Tuesday, March 3, 2026 (CCS Teacher Workday)
  • Grades 5–8: LEGO Robotics – design, build, and code robots while learning core engineering skills
📅 Saturday, May 2, 2026
  • Grades 1–4: Mad Scientist – hands-on experiments exploring chemistry, physics, and engineering
  • Grades 5–8: Aerial Soccer Academy (Drones) – combine drone technology, teamwork, and friendly competition
  • Grades 9–12: Academic Essays – strengthen writing skills with a focus on structure, thesis statements, and clarity

These interactive workshops are a great way for students to learn, explore, and have fun—especially on teacher workdays.

Insight with the Experts Professional Day, hosted by CCS for 6-12 graders on Feb. 21st

Current 6th -12th graders are encouraged to join us at Insight with the Experts Professional Day, hosted by Cabarrus County Schools, and presented by the Big E Life Changers, Inc. on Saturday, Feb. 21st from 1:00-4:00 pm at Jay M Robinson High School.
 
Students will have the opportunity to learn directly from industry professionals across diverse fields, discover non-traditional and emerging careers, ask questions, and gain real-world insight into education, skills, and daily work life, AND explore potential career paths aligned with their interests and strengths.
