Congratulations to Mrs. Espinoza!
Hello Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School Families,
I want to take a moment to share with you some outstanding news. Ms. Erin Espinoza has been named as the 2025 District 6 Outstanding Elementary Science Teacher Award by the NC Science Teachers Association! They are the largest professional organization for kindergarten through collegiate-level science educators in the state. The District Outstanding Science Teacher Awards acknowledge elementary, middle-grades and secondary-level science educators from each of the eight educational districts in North Carolina who exemplify excellence in instructional practice. This award is an extension of the Association’s goal to improve, expand and advance science teaching in all fields of science at all education levels throughout North Carolina. Ms. Espinoza was selected by other North Carolina science educators for this distinction based on your outstanding scientific knowledge, collaborative spirit, effective instruction, engagement in professional development, and over-all contributions to science teaching and learning.
Ms. Espinoza's impact on science instruction is profound. She works tirelessly every single day making science come alive for all of our students as our Innovation Lab teacher. Her lessons not only improve comprehension and retention, but ignite a lifelong interest in science among all of our students. Colleagues across grade levels regularly collaborate with her to elevate their science instruction and incorporate innovative strategies that benefit all learners. She is a true representative of Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School and this award is a testament to her continued dedication and hard work.
Please join me in congratulating Ms. Espinoza on this amazing honor! She will be officially honored in November at the North Carolina Science Teacher Association 2025 PDI Awards Ceremony.
Have a good evening,
